Ezra Pound Image

·      The image is the poets pigment. (the image is as paint is to an artist. It is how he/ she shows what they are expressing.)

·      The image is not an idea. It is a radiant node or cluster, a vortex through which, and from which, and into which ideas are constantly rushing (an image is not just the thought. An image is everything; it is the concrete and the thought and mood associated with the image.)

·      It is as true for painting and sculpture as it is for poetry (Just as you need to be able to see in painting and sculpting, you need to be able to visualize in poetry.)
